Job description
We’re on a mission to create a diverse group of future leaders. We do that through professional apprenticeships because we believe learning on-the-job creates a more equitable and successful path to careers. We find, train and support talented individuals, wherever they are in their career journey, and equip them with the in-demand tech, software engineering, and data skills to transform their careers and deliver a better route to growth for their employers.
We’ve had some big achievements. We hit 10,000 apprentices in our community - and counting. We launched one of the largest data apprenticeship programs in the UK with Jaguar Land Rover, and we’ve partnered with companies like Mars, Verizon and CitiBank. Not to forget becoming a mission-driven EdTech unicorn after our $220m Series D.
But we aren’t stopping here. Join Multiverse and build the future of learning at work.
The opportunity
As a Data Coach in the Data Literacy team, you will deliver our Level 3 Data Literacy programme, empowering career-builder apprentices to master data analysis and unlock valuable insights that feed into decision-making and value generation. In this role, you will lead a mixture of group workshops and one-on-one sessions. You will teach a variety of topics, starting with how to clean and prepare data in Excel, progressing onto the use of Tableau or Power BI, the application of data to businesses and automation.
The Data Literacy team is an incredible mix of industry experts, teachers, and academics. You’ll work as part of the team with the shared vision of building a better future of work, benefitting both apprentices and our clients.
To ensure all coaches who join Multiverse are truly set up for success, you’ll spend the first 6 weeks in your new role going through the fully bespoke Multiverse coach academy. Think of this as the best onboarding programme you’ve ever had! You will learn the pedagogical elements of a Multiverse delivery session, the different approaches between teaching and facilitation, and the core coach and technical grounding skills to support your apprentices.
During the coach academy, you’ll be paid your full salary whilst getting exciting opportunities to put your learning into practice by supporting coaches in their delivery and coaching sessions, whilst getting a better understanding of the Multiverse culture and the behaviours and values that make an excellent Data Coach. At the end of the Academy, you’ll be ready to launch your first cohort of Multiverse apprentices. We believe this is an opportunity like no other!
Specifically, as a Data Coach in the Data Literacy team you will:
Teach, coach and mentor up to 60 apprentices through their 13-month journey on the apprenticeship programme, turning them into the next generation of data driven professionals and future leaders.
Deliver interactive online workshop sessions and hackathons to help them discover and develop their skills for real-world application as they develop their experience in their role in an exciting organisation.
You will be responsible for your cohort’s progress through their apprenticeship, getting to know their roles in detail and working with their managers to support them to successful completion of the apprenticeship programme and into their future careers.
About you:
You have significant experience delivering data projects and teaching, mentoring or coaching.
You are a confident user of Excel and/or Google Sheets and have experience using features such as VLOOKUPs and Macros.
You have experience using Power BI and/or Tableau and can confidently import data from different sources, clean and prepare data and create dashboards.
Our coaches come from a diverse range of backgrounds, so you might be a data analyst, someone who has used their skills in industry with a background in teaching or a qualified teacher or coach who has used data skills in work-based projects.
You believe passionately in social mobility and equity, and you want to inspire apprentices to kickstart their careers in data
You are comfortable and thrive in a fast moving and changing work environment
You align closely with our values and can share examples of how you have demonstrated them.
