We are currently recruiting for a Data Centre Day Technician for our site in Berkshire
Hours: Weekdays Monday to Friday , 07:00 - 16:00 (40hpw)
Job Purpose
EMCOR UK are looking for an enthusiastic and capable individual to join our Data Centre Team. This team will be providing technical support for all critical infrastructure during planned and reactive tasks to ensure sites high level of availability. This role will be supporting the shift teams on a day shift basis.
Duties / Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Deliverables
Conduct and record preventative maintenance of critical plant and equipment supporting shift personnel.
Carry out the service and maintenance of the diverse types of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment under the EMCOR contracts
Conduct site surveys and inspections
Attend the training programs prescribed by EMCOR
Carry out 24/7 standby duties as per the roster, or when issues arise
Document and support the corrective actions identified.
Support and facilitate specialist subcontractors/vendors during planned, reactive or project tasks while ensuring they conform to the site procedures and agreed safety documentation.
Monitor, maintain, investigate and acknowledge the BMS and SCADA systems.
Undertake daily site checks to note and proactively repair any defects and to maintain plant rooms in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
Rectify and record defects to ensure SLA timeframes are always met.
Provide rapid and effective response to customer requirements.
Review subcontractor competencies before work permits are authorised.
Ensure compliance and escalate any issue that effect the availability, health and safety and security of the site.
Adhere to all current company and Critical Engineering Management policies.
Maintain water systems and records in accordance with L8 Legislation.
Provide innovative solutions and recommendations to improve processes, building, plant and systems.
Essential
Knowledge of BMS / SCADA
Good knowledge of Generators, Cooling systems and UPS systems.
Hold a valid UK driving license.
Serving a full Technical Apprenticeship and hold a technical qualification as an electrical engineer (C&G,HNC, ONC etc).
Able to organise and manage own workload.
Positive proactive attitude and can take ownership of the site.
Aware of site critically and work risks.
Good admin skills with Microsoft packages.
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Good understanding of HV/LV distribution systems
Desirable
Working towards a Technical Certificate or Diploma in Refrigeration / Air-Conditioning / HVAC
Demonstrate experience in the Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning industry as a service mechanic or technician
Working towards knowledge and skills of electrical and electronic fault diagnosis as applicable to the AC and refrigeration industry
Understanding of / experience fire alarm and suppression systems
Critical site experience or Data centre experience
Knowledge of CMMS
Electrical knowledge, qualifications and experience (HV/LV)
L8 Certification
- Site Allowances of up to £4,000 per annum on certain roles
