Job title: Data Analyst - Flex
Location: London, Bristol, Edinburgh, Lisbon (including hybrid)
Salary: £55,500 - £70,000
Part time: Yes up to 80%
Kaluza wants to power a world where net-zero is within everyone's reach, by building the platform that will accelerate a sustainable, affordable and resilient energy transition. It's a huge challenge, but often the toughest problems are the most rewarding to solve. Since launching in 2019, Kaluza's technology has been empowering some of the biggest energy suppliers to better serve millions of customers. From revolutionising billing to smart electric vehicle charging, our real-time cloud platforms transform supplier operations, reducing cost to serve and boosting engagement. And most importantly, they enable suppliers' customers to drive decarbonisation with smart, low carbon technologies.
Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?
You'll be working on Kaluza's Flexibility platform. Designed to be the nervous system connecting energy retailers, grid operators, and consumers, Flex will aid us in creating the distributed, consumer-centric, dynamic energy system of the future. Bridging the gap between distributed renewable generation and smart devices, it helps consumers shift their energy consumption to times when there's more renewable energy. This not only saves them money, but enables society as a whole to meet the challenge of decarbonising transport and residential heating/cooling. We're also supporting this vital shift by building the innovative technology behind unique, market-leading customer propositions like Vehicle to Grid and Charge Anytime Energy Plan with our energy retailer partners.
You'll also be part of the centralised Kaluza Data Analytics team and wider Kaluza analytics community where you'll share knowledge, support other analysts and contribute towards the team's methodologies.
What will I be doing?
Data is the foundation of everything we do, and to deliver our vision we need curious, tenacious people who can turn this data into strategy and actions with their expertise. As a Data Analyst at Kaluza, you'll help product teams derive insights, identify patterns and solve challenges with data. You'll be working with outstanding product teams developing the platform powering the flexible electricity grid of the future to drive decision making through data.
This role is a good fit for you if you want to:
- Combine skills in data pipeline building and analytics generation to shape raw data into metrics for clients and for decision making
- Build out robust data products to enable self-serve analytics and democratise Kaluza's rich data
- Help shape and optimise the data model in your area of Kaluza
- Maintain and optimise existing entities in our data estate to ensure code and dashboards are of high quality and accuracy
- Help to define what metrics are important to track, how to track them and support the adoption of these metrics
- Work across multi-functional areas gathering requirements and building out these asks
- Promote ethical methodologies across how all data is used and processed, always ensuring compliance and security is placed first.
Ideally you will have:
- Real world experience in a similar data analysis or analytics engineering role, with a good understanding of querying, analysing and extracting insights from data
- Experience building data pipelines with SQL and using more complex SQL e.g. working with structures & arrays
- Proven track record engaging with stakeholders across multifunctional teams and bringing together requirements to build a bigger picture
- Experience in programming for analytics, preferably in Python
- Confidence in building and communicating significant data visualisations and experienced in using a business intelligence platform (we use Tableau and Looker Studio)
- Excellent presentation and communication skills - able to articulate results clearly and concisely to stakeholders of all levels.
