To fuel our expansion and drive market success, we have an exciting opportunity available for a Data Analyst – Energy Market Operations.
Job Information:
Reporting into the Manager, Energy Market Operation, you will support the delivery of energy solutions that provide clients with opportunities to maximize their market revenues, reduce their total energy spend, and enhance overall system efficiency. Rodan is looking for an ambitious individual who takes initiative to solve problems and meet deadlines and is looking to grow their knowledge base of the various Independent Systems Operator (ISO) electricity markets. You are a data subject matter expert translating broad business questions into actionable analytical steps.

This is a flexible hybrid role where you are required to work both remotely and in person depending on business needs. You will be required to work at our Corporate HQ in Mississauga a minimum of 2 days per week to attend and participate in workshops, projects, or team meetings.
Main Responsibilities & Duties:
- Collect and analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources including Electricity system supply, energy consumption data, production data and financial data
- Develop and maintain data from SQL
- Develop data models and algorithms to help identify patterns and trends in the data
- Create data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to business partners and senior management through Power BI
- Identify areas where data can be used to improve business processes and provide recommendations to management
- Monitor data quality and identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure that data is integrated and utilized effectively across the organization
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology to identify new opportunities for data analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.
- Quick and accurate modelling and analysis of large sets of financial and other customer data
- Proficient in SQL and MATLAB
- Proficiency in designing dashboards in Microsoft Power BI is preferred
- Energy markets experience or an interest in energy management and promoting sustainability in the workplace.
- Quick and accurate modelling and analysis of large sets of financial and other customer data
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Outlook)
