Description
As a Data Analyst, you will collaborate with stakeholders at all levels across multiple business functions, transforming their requirements into insightful reports and dashboards.
You will provide full analytical support and deliver insightful intelligence to commercial functions that add value and drive business decisions. You will be able to deliver information in a clear manner at the appropriate level using your analytical, commercial and communication skills.
Working with all teams across the business, your focus will be:
- Optimising our resources – helping teams work efficiently and intelligently, ensuring they can make data driven decisions
- Development, monitoring and optimising of Key Performance Indicators
- Identify any gaps in our current reporting suite and advise on solutions
- Provide analysis and interpretation for Senior Management on ad hoc scenarios and activities.
To succeed in this role, you will have an analytical and logical mindset, have excellent attention to detail and quality, be comfortable working with large amounts of data from various sources and be able to interpret data and help the business understand the numbers.
You will be proficient in writing SQL queries, often complex queries combining data from numerous data sources located on multiple SQL servers.
Key Responsibilities
- Promoting a data-driven culture across the business and championing the use of insight for effective decision-making.
- Working alongside our data, product and engineering teams to enhance our data capability, including input on the architecture and software required to drive further growth.
- Ongoing review and maintenance of the existing BI suite of automated reports and processes.
- End to end development of BI Solutions – from initial discussions with stakeholders to the deployment of an automated solution.
- Ensuring consistency and accuracy across all BI Reports.
- Regular communication with internal stakeholders, ensuring they are supported and have the data required for their business area.
- Working with commercial teams to answer specific questions through ad-hoc insight projects
- Fulfilling ad hoc data requests
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
- Degree in relevant field or experience working in a commercial / analytical role
- Experience of commercial analytics
- Experience dealing with stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced knowledge of SSRS for report development
- Experience working with multiple data sources, able to transform, combine and aggregate data into a single repository
- Excellent practical knowledge of Excel
- Confidence in using SQL to work with data
- Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- A keen eye for detail and aptitude for working with data
- Highly accurate and thorough in all tasks
- Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mind

- Adaptability and Flexibility
Desirable:
- Experience in the education marketplace
- Experience working with cross functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Account Management)
- Advanced knowledge of SSIS for ETL design
- Experience of working with APIs
- Experience of working with BI Solutions (Power BI/ Qlik/Tableau etc)
