Job description
We are looking to employ a detail-oriented and experienced data analyst to create, modify, and manage production schedules based on cultivation supply, Flower and pre-roll production capacity, sales demand, and market trends. The production data analyst transforms internal cultivation supply, internal sales team demand, and California cannabis market data into valuable business intelligence and insights, ultimately converting these insights into a cultivation planting and finished goods production plan using analytical solutions. Likewise, the production data analyst’s responsibilities include managing inventory levels to business needs, regularly providing production status updates to sales and management, and working in conjunction with the Production Manager and VP of Operations to closely monitor production rates to ensure that production work orders are completed on time while avoiding stockouts or overstocks. Furthermore, the production data analyst, in conjunction with sales, marketing and cultivation, uses analytical solutions to determine proper crop planting quantities by cultivar.
Production Data Analyst Responsibilities
- Evaluating sales and market data to create demand models for flower and pre-roll product portfolio.
- Communicating crop planting needs by cultivar to cultivation team based on demand models
- Working with post-harvest manager to establish trimming priorities based on current finished goods inventory levels and sales forecasted demand
- Developing flower and pre-roll production plan based on finished goods inventory levels and sales demand data
- Working with production manager to collect, monitor, and present production efficiency data.
- Estimating the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
- Effecting changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
- Compiling status and performance reports and submitting them to management in a timely manner.
- Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
- Help facilitate daily production meetings with Production Manager
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Machine learning, Computer Science, Statistics, supply chain management, or related field is preferred.
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous.
- Proven experience working as a data analyst.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office, Google Suite applications and data visualization software such as Google Data Studio, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Familiar with Metrc and/or, Cultivera a plus
- Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, presentation and time management skills.
- Experience in data mining algorithms and statistical modeling techniques such as clustering, classification, regression, decision trees, neural nets, support vector machines, genetic algorithms, anomaly detection, recommender systems, and natural language processing
- Expert command of machine learning, statistical modeling, state-of-the-art tools, and engineering best practices
- Proven strong aptitude in data visualization platforms such as Tableau, PowerBI, Grafana.
- Proven strong aptitude in data science platforms
- Project Management – Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and complete assignments quickly and accurately.

- Compensation - Non-exempt - $28 per hour minimum to start
- Individual Contributor – no direct reports
