About The Role

Purpose:

The role will involve assisting the Head of Sustainability and Cala’s Sustainability Team in collating, analysing, and reporting Cala’s sustainability data. This will support the delivery of Cala’s Sustainability Strategy and its associated aims and objectives.



Main Accountabilities:



The Sustainability Data Analyst’s main role will be to collate, analyse, and report on Cala’s sustainability data. This will include (but not be limited to) data relating to energy consumption (office and construction sites), construction and office waste, business travel, water consumption, biodiversity, and social/ governance metrics.

The wider scope of the role will also include, but not be limited to:

  • Assistance in delivering Cala’s Sustainability Strategy, including future amendments and enhancements
  • Collating and analysing sustainability data from across the business
  • Presenting Cala’s sustainability data in a variety of reporting formats to different audiences (internal and external)
  • Liaising with Cala regions and providing direct support to assist them in collating relevant sustainability data
  • Maintaining relevant databases to ensure robustness of data collation and analysis
  • Proactive analysis of sustainability data to identify trends and anomalies
  • Development of an annual Cala Sustainability Report
  • Liaison with Cala’s parent company and auditors on sustainability data requirements
  • Identification of improvements to Cala’s data collection processes, and development of potential solutions
  • Assisting in the communication of sustainability requirements throughout the business
  • Inputting into project processes and documents, e.g. risk registers, programmes etc.
  • Working with key parts of the business to effect positive sustainability change



About You

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
  • A degree-level qualification in an associated subject, e.g. environmental management, engineering, data analytics


  • Good working knowledge of sustainability matters as they pertain to housing, particularly in relation to climate change mitigation and adaptation
  • Good working knowledge of sustainability reporting requirements and protocols, e.g. Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Science Base Targets, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience/Knowledge of relevant software packages, e.g. ESG reporting software, SAP software, LCA software, would be beneficial, but is not essential
  • Ability to collate and analyse sustainability data, e.g. carbon footprinting
  • Ability to prepare reports and presentation material across different formats
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and activities and communicate this to the wider team
  • Ability to work in a collaborative way
