As a Category Management Data Analyst you will play a central role in the Category
Management team, working with Boots UK teams to turn raw data and fragmented, multi
sourced information into meaningful insight, understanding both the bigger picture and detail. To

About the role
Our Data Analysts work in close collaboration with all members of the Category Management
analyst and coaching team, along with specialist insight teams and category, brand and
merchandising teams. Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, combined with a can-do
attitude and desire for data accuracy and rigorous analysis is key to success. You will have sole
responsibility for particular category projects e.g. Baby, Skincare, Pain Relief, Cosmetics.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end category analysis with your experience of analysing large data sets through SQL or similar
- Prepare retail lever analytical tools to manage and evaluate commercial decisions for price, range/distribution and supplier/brand
- Coordinate and curate a suite of automated reports and text file-based trend information to support each category project
- Work with a wide range of stakeholders across our commercial and insight teams in Boots UK and / or International Retail
- With your passion and curiosity for retail, our markets and competitors you will produce competitor insights from market competitor audit activity.
- Continuously maintain and develop insight best practice to build and share category management capability with the commercial teams across Boots UK and International Retail.

What you’ll need to have
- A keen interest in how retail works and in the Boots business in general.
- To be computer literate and skilled in using Excel spreadsheets and Power Point (working knowledge of lookups, pivot tables and charts would be an advantage).
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and presentational skills
- Ideally 1 year’s commercial experience in an analytical role
- To be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a numerate discipline – preferably Statistics, Mathematics, Marketing or Business Studies with knowledge of business analysis, marketing or similar disciplines.
