The Blackberry Clinic have an exciting opportunity for a HCA to join us working full time (37.5hrs per week) with our multi-disciplinary teams in our Milton Keynes clinic assisting the doctors with x-ray and ultrasound guided injections, the overall management of the patient’s pathway and additional services as they are added. This role will also include elements of administrative work.
The ideal candidate should be energetic and proactive, possessing excellent interpersonal skills and a professional manner. They should be organised and experienced in working in a fast-paced environment and possess a reasonable level of IT competency.
All training will be given as part of a programme. The successful applicant will be motivated to develop new skills and work well as part of a team but be confident to work autonomously as required and be adaptive to cover both the clinical and administrative needs of the role.
The clinics have a treatment suite to provide x-ray and ultrasound guided injections and the successful candidate will assist the doctor during procedures, monitor the patient following their treatment, organise follow-up appointments and complete the associated patient administration.

We are experts in treating acute and chronic back pain, muscle sprains, strains, arthritis and other joint conditions causing pain or discomfort. We offer a full service for the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries for all levels of sports men and women and offer health screening and health assessment services in partnership with Bupa Health Clinics.
Key Healthcare Assistant Responsibilities:
· Preparing the treatment suite for the doctors to perform injections under x-ray guidance (training given on fluoroscopy unit).
· Using aseptic technique to prepare the equipment necessary to perform procedures.
· Assisting the doctor throughout the procedure, maintaining a sterile field.
· To support and monitor the patient pre, during and post procedure.
· Be the first port of call immediately after procedures for patients to be able to discuss their aftercare and any worries they may have. For this you will need to ensure that you are fully up to date on all procedures performed at the clinic and that you understand the potential complications, signs and symptoms to look out for.
· Ordering, safe storage and stock control of medical supplies.
· Maintain accurate patient records.
· Carry out medical audits (training given).
· To process billing of treatments to insurance companies (training given).
· To be up to date and knowledgeable re insurance companies and codes so that the invoicing can be done correctly and efficiently. You will also be the first port of call for insurance company queries therefore you will need to ensure that you keep up-dated whilst maintaining data-protection at all times.
· IT skills are essential (including Word and Excel).
· The suitable candidate must have good initiative and be able to work independently or as part of a small team.
Required Skills & Experience:
· Accurately recording information and working to clinical procedure.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
· Customer facing experience.
