Are you ready to play a pivotal role in safeguarding our airline and passengers from the ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats? British Airways invites you to step into the role of a Cyber Security Engineer. In this position, you will be at the forefront of building and developing the technical security solutions that form the foundation of our defence against cyber attacks. Collaborating with colleagues from across the globe, as well as the BA Cyber Team and IAG Tech, you will design, create, and maintain cutting-edge capabilities that effectively counter both current and emerging threats.
Key duties will include:
- Innovative Solution Design: As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will design and construct security tools and capabilities to proactively mitigate threats originating from various sources. Your creations will form a critical line of defence for British Airways.
- Strategic Roadmap Development: You will produce comprehensive product visions, strategies, and roadmaps that align with the IAG Group's objectives while supporting the evolving use cases within the BA business.
- Threat-Centric Strategy: Aligning with a threat and risk-led strategy, you will enable British Airways to focus on critical areas while minimizing overheads, ensuring an optimal balance between security and operational efficiency.
- Proactive Landscape Assessment: Continuously evaluating our technical landscape, you will guarantee the ongoing effectiveness of our protection mechanisms, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.
About you:
- Highly analytical and methodical, you possess a keen eye for detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- An excellent communicator, you adeptly translate complex technical issues into understandable insights for stakeholders at all levels.
- Familiarity with Microsoft M365 + Defender capabilities, Splunk, Akamai, ForcePoint, SIEM, and SOAR products is desirable.
- Recognized cyber security certifications or qualifications are a plus.
- Experience with NIST (or similar) security framework(s) and a strong knowledge of AWS.
