Assentian Ltd is a small cyber security and blockchain lab based in Doncaster, London and Dublin. Our work primarily involves working with innovative emerging technologies to find the applications of the future to address industries issues with cyber security and the growth of data. That work is complemented with a strong emphasis on standards and regulation within the areas of cyber security and data protection to deliver services that are compliant and in line with both legal and regulatory requirements within the respective industries.
Assentian currently works with a number of European Financial Institutions, Global Technology Providers, The United Kingdom Government, The European Union, the UK construction sector, healthcare providers and leading academics from around the world.
Overview:
Due to growth, we are now looking for an ambitious and tech-passionate individual to join our highly knowledgeable team whilst undertaking a Digital & Technology Solutions Professional Degree (IT Consultancy Pathway) with QA in partnership with Roehampton University.
The main responsibility of the Cyber Security Consultant Apprentice will be to play an integral role in collaborative innovation projects working with new technologies such as Blockchain and AI helping to develop proof of concepts to solve specific cyber security and data management challenges identified by Assentian’s customers and partners.
Duties include:
- Becoming familiar with standards on information security, risk management and data protection and participating in the implementation for the companies’ customers
- Undertaking relevant client work ranging from applications to fintech projects
- Working across offices from Leeds, London and Dublin with potential travel required
- Carrying out ad-hoc technical duties
What we are looking for:
In order to be eligible for this opportunity, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- A good understanding on the fundamentals of Software Engineering, Networks and Operating Systems
- Some evidence of a basic proficiency in Programming
- An interest in new technology and problem solving
- An ability to work both in teams and independently
- First class communication skills
- A career driven individual with a passion for all things tech
As this is a degree apprenticeship, this gives you the opportunity to gain 4 years experience within a successful and consultative cyber practice whilst also gaining your BSc (Hons) in Digital & Technology Solutions.
If you have an awareness of cyber security risks and threats, experience of using Java, Python, Linux, Databases and SQL then do not hesitate in applying today!
Entry requirements:
A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area in any grade. Acceptable qualifications include:
- Two A levels in one or more similar subject.*
- Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject.
- International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in a similar subject.
- BTEC Extended Diploma in a similar subject.
- A work experience route (2-3 years) in a similar subject-related role.
- 'Similar subject' relates to areas directly relevant to or commensurate with 'Digital and Technology Solutions'. Typically this would be areas such as but not limited to Level 3 digital apprenticeships, A-Level/BTEC Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Software Engineering, etc.
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Salary:
£17,000 per annum.
Working week:
37.5 hours per week.
Future prospects:
90% of QA Apprentices secure full-time employment after finishing their apprenticeship.
