HEALTH & SAFETY ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
Operations Department – Rhyl
Permanent, 37 hours per week
NWFRS Grade 04 £23,620 - £24,496 per annum
We are looking to appoint a Health & Safety Administration Assistant to support the Health & Safety team within the Operations department based in Rhyl.
The Health & Safety Administration Assistant provides general administrative support to the team; duties include typing letters, preparing documents and reports, filing and supporting the team as necessary to deal with enquiries, both personally or by referring to the appropriate person. Using your health and safety knowledge, you will also support the investigation of safety events by ensuring accurate records are maintained and events are reported as appropriate. You will be responsible for arranging internal and external meetings for the team, minute/note taking and preparing agendas and actions lists.
Previous experience of working in an administrative role is required, with a knowledge of health & safety being beneficial. Ideally you will hold an IOSH qualification in Health and Safety but candidates that are willing to undertake the qualification within the probation period will be considered.
You will be an effective communicator with good customer service skills, experienced in dealing promptly with written communication and verbal queries from both internal colleagues and external stakeholders. With good organisational skills to manage your own workload and meet deadlines, you will need to be flexible and adaptable to change to deal with requests as they arise and have the ability to work independently using your own initiative.
The team are located in Rhyl and some travel in a provided vehicle may be required to attend other Fire Service sites in North Wales. There is also the possibility to undertake a blend of agile working, either from home or alternative Fire Service locations which can be discussed further at interview.
