We are currently recruiting for Cyber Security Analyst to join the Offensive Security Test Team at FIS. These positions are Birmingham-based and aligned to the FIS University Program; a two-year scheme, suited to entry level joiners who aspire to develop a successful career with a leading fintech company!
As a full-time FIS University Program participant, you will receive on-the-job training and have an opportunity to participate in team projects, professional development seminars and work with a team that is invested in your growth, development, and success – including regular connects with your manager and bi-annual merit reviews.
The UK program has a start date in September 2023 with a dedicated “Learning Week” where you will:
- Learn the unique nature of our industry, products, and the markets in which we work
- Learn the structure of FIS and options for growth within the organisation
- Hear from FIS leadership about their journey and participate in senior leader networking opportunities
- Build a network of peers from across the organisation
Following the FIS University Program Learning week, you will continue your learning journey with your business unit and receive further functional training as you settle into your role.
About the team
Offensive Security Test is a global team with members in US, UK, Europe, and India. Our team attempt to breach company security by combining intelligence gathering, social engineering, threat actor and hacking skills. The team takes a holistic view of the company from an outsider’s perspective and infiltrate from outside-in.
What you will be doing
In your role as Cyber Security Analyst, you will take a proactive & aggressive approach to attack company assets by simulating and act as attackers/malicious user.
Evaluate, test, recommend, coordinate, and maintain Information Systems (IS) and cyber security policies, procedures, and systems, especially access management for hardware, firmware, and software- Operate a hands-on role involving penetration testing* and vulnerability assessment activities of complex applications and infrastructure (network/cloud)
- Ensures that IS and cyber security architecture/designs, plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures are aligned with IS standards and overall IS and cyber security
- Develop techniques and procedures for conducting FIS and cyber security risk assessments and testing of hardware, firmware, and software for vulnerabilities that can impact system security
- Develop meaningful reports to reflect the true posture of the environment allowing the organization to make educated decisions based on risk. Reports must be produced in manner that vulnerability is actionable & threat-based that enables stakeholders to make informed decision based on risk
- Consult with application developers, systems administrators, and management to demonstrate security testing results, explain the threat presented by the results, and consult on remediation
- Retest & validate remediated vulnerabilities to ensure that fix has remediated the vulnerability
Penetration Testing is a method to assess the security of system. The test, a simulated cyberattack, has for aim to identifying weaknesses.
Who we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science
- A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate and present to technical and non-technical audience
- Knowledge of networks technologies (protocols, design concepts, access control)
- Knowledge of security technologies (encryption, data protection, design, privilege access, etc.)
- Knowledge of network design and engineering
- Highly organized with good time management
- A Project Planner who can plan, set objectives and reports
- Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and/or clients
- Proactive mindset, with a willingness to ask questions and put forward ideas
- An aptitude to research and self-train to keep develop testing skills
