Cyber Security Analyst- Cyber Essentials (CE) and CE Plus
Reports To: Head of Cyber Testing
Location: 80% Home / 20% Reading Office
£25,000 - £30,000k PA DOE
URM Consulting Services Limited (URM) is dedicated to providing high quality, cost-effective and tailored consultancy and training in the areas of information and cyber security, data protection, business continuity and risk management.
Overall Responsibilities
- Working as part of URM's Cyber Team, the role holder will be responsible for assisting clients gain Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. This will involve:
- Reviewing Cyber Essentials self-assessment questionnaires with existing and new clients within agreed timescales
- Delivering recommendations to customers that are timely, business focussed and provide appropriate and practical solutions
- Assisting with pre/post sales activities as required
- Maintaining excellent communication with customers and internal teams.
- As part of the Cyber Team, you will assist with the growth and development of URM’s Cyber Essentials services and have the potential to develop a rewarding career in cyber security.
Skills, Qualifications and Core Competencies
- Preferably a technical related degree or comparable knowledge
- Ideally, 3 years IT experience (e.g., help desk, IT support) looking to enter the cyber security industry
- Professional manner and continually demonstrate a business and customer-driven approach
- Familiarity with different IT technologies and environments e.g., system and network administration, common operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux), technical infrastructure (LAN/WAN/VPN)
- Willingness to learn
- Problem solving and helping customers understand the requirements and essential security controls for compliance
- General knowledge of the Cyber Essentials Scheme
- Vulnerability assessment experience a plus
- Self-starter with initiative and common sense.
