Job description
As Cyber Security Analyst you will form a part of the Security Operations Centre (SOC) within the Digital Solutions team. Supporting the IT Security Manager in the delivery of a suite of security services across the end-user computing platform (Anti-Virus, Malware, Device Control, Data Leakage Protection, Personal Firewall, Application Control, 802.1x, Network Access Control, Device Encryption). In addition, you will provide advice and guidance across a customer base in excess of 7500 spanning Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.
A key part of your role will be to monitor across a range of IT security platforms, analyzing, alerting and responding to any potential breaches as well as being involved in ensuring that security updates are being applied across a range of infrastructure and end user assets.
Operating within an ITIL framework, you will be instrumental in the successful delivery of services across HBLICT with a focus on securing critical data assets across a wide spectrum of technology platforms.
Support the IT Security Manager in the delivery of security services (Anti-Virus, Malware, Device Control, Data Leakage Protection, Personal Firewall, Application Control, 802.1x, Network Access Control, Device Encryption) including protection and operation of customer systems and related support services including technical architecture, operational procedures, standards and processes across customers.
Ensuring that all security problems are recorded, assigned and actioned within the ITSM as appropriate. Ensuring that communications across the department, with Key Stakeholders and the wider customer base are consistently delivered by working closely with colleagues across IT Operations and Governance, Risk and Compliance teams.
Support the delivery of IT security patching across all aspects of IT service provision (Infrastructure and end-user environments).

Actively participate in regional and national security initiatives, reporting back to senior management with respect latest threats, trends and vulnerabilities across the security landscape.

HBLICT are currently based in the centre of Welwyn Garden City, a 1920's 'garden city' in the heart of Hertfordshire. Welwyn Garden City is 25 minutes from central London by train and easily assessed from A1 and other major roads networks.
In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary subject to a minimum and maximum payment per annum (pro rata where applicable) in line with Agenda for Change.
Working alongside the IG Assurance team in relation to any forensic investigations
Working closely with colleagues in the Software Asset Management team to maintain an accurate inventory of all licenses in relation to end-user security solutions.
Working within frameworks (CESG 10 Step, GDPR, DPA, ISO 27001, NST, DSPT) to ensure that IT security compliance is maintained across the organisation
Report on investigations in relation to security breaches regarding IT services.
Membership of both Change and Problem review meetings
Work with 3rd party vendors/support agencies to progress and resolve issues which cannot be rectified locally
Manage work volumes through the organisations ITSM platform, specifically dealing with incident service and problem requests.
Build key working relationships with technology partners (i.e., Microsoft, HP, Apple, Lenovo) to ensure that the delivery of services is consistent.
Ensuring that annual penetration tests are undertaken to comply with ISO and IG frameworks.
