Duties:
- Manage and direct a security team monitoring CCTV and patrolling in an organised and systematic fashion to ensure the safety of public, staff and contractors.
- Duty Management of an FM team to ensure service delivery.
- Ensure efficient and effective communication within team and across departments.
- Ensure the management of staff and processes in relation to the monitoring of all life safety systems including but not limited to the fire alarm system, intruder system, sprinkler system, etc.
- Direct actions to protect life and structure as required by the life safety systems which may include but are not limited to evacuations, search plans, etc.
- Liaise with management at all levels to ensure effective operational delivery.
- Ensure the management of contractor control systems and access procedures to site.
- Ensure departmental adherence to British Standards implemented i.e. BS7499, BS7958.
- Attend weekly review and security operations meetings with the client, recording actions and implementing and tracking progress
- Daily liaison with the client’s management team (security, logistics, and events) to ensure that Incentive FM operations are in alignment.
- Analyse security threat information, identify areas of concern and implement security solutions.
- Ensure the management of departmental records events/incidents/evacuations.
- Ensure KPI standards are met.
- Innovation: Propose new technologies and working methods to increase efficiencies and demonstrate ROI through effective risk mitigation.
- Maintain, review and develop major incident plans and procedures to ensure effective incident management.
- Co-ordinate and develop an existing local crime partnership scheme to increase site safety and mitigate loss.
- Assist with security risk analysis/assessment as required.
- Possess the ability to provide results or resolutions to problems in a positive and courteous manner.
- Oversee traffic management on-site where required.
- Development and implementation of weekly site audits in order to ensure an ISO 31000 security minimum standard is maintained
- Understand and comply with all of the Client’s security rules and requirements.
- Undertake manual handling duties (not exceeding a load of 20Kgs individually)
- Other duties as reasonably expected of a manager of a large security department working for a large organisation.

Qualifications:
- Previous management experience within the security/FM industry.
- Must hold a valid SIA Public Space Surveillance Licence and a SIA Guarding, Close Protection or Door Supervisors licence or be willing to achieve a licence within the first 12 weeks of employment.
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificate/IOSH managing safely.
- Training qualification (Level 3)
- Experience of Investigation and evidence gathering ideally gained from UK Police or similar environment.
- Membership with industry bodies i.e. UK Security Institute, ASIS, ISMI, ASC, and IPSA.
- Min level 5 qualification in a security/management related subject (UK Regulated Qualifications Framework), ASIS CPP, PSP or ISMI CSMP (other credible industry recognised qualifications will be considered).
Skills & Abilities (Competencies)
- Relationship management skills that enable you to work with people at all levels and across diverse nationalities.
- High level understanding of Local and national security threats and how they can impact the retail space.
- High technical understanding of computer systems with an awareness of project implementation and maintenance.
- Ability to drive innovation and implement leaner and more effective working practices at department and influence this across the wider retail space.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience of managing and maintaining an Operations Centre in a large national retail environment or facilities asset.
- Understanding of Data Protection Act 1998 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Understanding of, and experience of working to national security standards i.e. BS 16000:2015, CCTV Code of Practice, etc.
- Understanding of BS 7858, BS 7958 and BS 7499.
- Effective relationship developer, who can contribute to a team based culture.
- Understanding of life safety systems and wider facility safety practices.
- Understanding of facilities management would be advantageous.
- Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility for a large multi-tasking team.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and offer new ideas.
- Adaptable and flexible in approach to work required.
- Willingness and ability to work as a member of a team.
- Comprehensive report writing / presentation skills.
- Ability to act decisively and remain calm under pressure.
- Good I.T skills (Use of Microsoft Word. Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint).
- Previous use of Concept; Appraisd and Access.
- Multitasking (Critical competency).
