The role of Strategic Insight Manager is to support the Senior Insight Manager in generating relevant customer insight to unlock customers’ needs, preference and mind sets for key stakeholders across the HSBC UK lines of business and brands (HSBC UK, FD & M&S Bank). The role holder will be involved in commissioning primary research, as well as collating existing primary and secondary sources to synthesis learnings and insight, as well as running workshops with internal stakeholders to help the business put the customer at the heart of its decision making. There is a requirement to stakeholder manage a range of internal and external stakeholders (including but not limited to Marketing, product & proposition development teams and distribution teams) ensuring research is focused, actionable, cost effective, and complies with relevant legislation and industry best practice and applicable codes of conduct.
This role is being advertised as a full time vacancy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide expertise to stakeholders on appropriate ways to run research and insight studies, and manage those studies to deadline and budget
- Understand outputs from research studies and translate into actionable recommendations, building in external market research
- Join up external, internal and other insight, across the UK Customer Strategy & Insight spectrum to present a holistic answer to business problems
- Present insight confidently and articulately to maximize its uptake
- Be proactive in ensuring key stakeholders are aware of new insights
- Ensure insights are distributed to stakeholders in an engaging and informative manner
- Proactively understand business issues of key stakeholders to ensure insight keeps pace with business strategy
- Present objective findings and be prepared to defend objective facts, and ensure insight is fit for purpose
- Work as part of UK Customer Strategy & Insight to proactively join intelligence up
- Be able to work across the team, under pressure, to respond to individual stakeholders’ needs
- Acting as a role model, leading by example in a manner that motivates and inspires colleagues
- To commission cost effective research studies, working with TPM and Procurement as necessary to scope and define requirements, and follow tender procedures to deliver effective vendor relationships through negotiation.
- To proactively ensure we comply with relevant legislation, compliance policies and industry best practice
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Excellent presentation skills including the use of PowerPoint
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Data interpretation – ability to use Excel to perform analysis and interrogate data
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
- Contribute productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
- A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long term risks and implications
- Proven experience of successful project management, utilising relevant tools and techniques to ensure consistent delivery
- Managing risk and ensuring compliance
This is a Hybrid role but you will be expected to attend the office in London or Birmingham as and when the need dictates
