Department: Warehouse Operations
- Responsible for leading a team of associates to achieving various goals, including productivity, problem resolution, outstanding customer service, employee relations (motivation and development), and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Coordinates and directs administrative support functions for the facility and customer.
- Arrange loads for dispatch and make necessary system updates by departmental policies.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the customer.
- Must become a super systems user and drive efficiencies through systemic improvements.
- Interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and Corrective Action; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Understands and communicates company, division, and department procedures and requirements.
- Understands and interprets customer requirements and provides appropriate training, reports, and service.
- Coordinates all special projects and acts as a liaison between the customer and Saddle Creek personnel.
- Solicit feedback and modify actions as appropriate to continually focus on improving their processes to ensure the customer’s needs are met for high-quality, cost-effective logistics services.
- Extensive contact with the customer and vendors and will need to communicate verbally and in writing with a professional and positive attitude.
- Effectively utilizes SCCs and customer’s software systems.
- Ensure exceptional customer service key performance indicators.
- Maintain a clean, professional, and safe working environment by meeting or exceeding SCLS corporate safety goals.
- Promote constant and measurable improvement; teach and enforce SCLS’ Quality Policy
- Effectively communicate SCLS goals, expectations, areas for improvement, and successes to associates.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within the department.
- Associate degree and at least four (4) years of supervisory experience OR Required to have a High School Diploma/GED and at least six (6) years of supervisory experience. All supervisory experience is ideally performed in an office or warehouse environment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications
- Demonstrated leadership skills to influence department and implement and manage change.
- Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others’ efforts.
- Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; possess solid judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to function in a high-stress environment while focusing on the operational goals.
- Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
- Ability to build a cohesive team that exemplifies SCLS’ values and operates to support SCLS’ mission statement.

- A bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
- Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement training and experience.
