We are looking to recruit 4 permanent Allocations & Applications Officers within the Housing Solutions & Support Service to deliver a responsive and customer focused Allocation & Application Service and to ensure the Council’s Housing Allocation Scheme is administered appropriately and within legislative requirements.
The main duties of the role include administering and assessing housing applications by conducting relevant inquiries and investigations ensuring housing applications are assessed accurately and in a timely manner.
Duties also include managing the process of shortlisting, allocating and matching properties to applicants using the Abritas Choice Based Lettings system, ensuring suitable property letting allocations are made within the appropriate timescales and in accordance with Birmingham City Council’s Housing Allocation Scheme and legislative requirements. This includes reviewing property adverts, requesting any missing property information and approving adverts.
In addition an awareness of Nomination Agreements and the duties and responsibilities of Registered Providers would be beneficial to support the service to monitor nomination acceptances and refusals, including helping to ensure nomination agreements are being administrated in full accordance with the terms agreed.
The ideal candidates will have previous experience of working in a social housing environment and will have the ability to provide expert advice and information on the Council’s Housing Allocation Scheme and housing registration process to customers and a range of stakeholders.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
