Vanguard is a well-established self-storage business that has been trading for over 50 years. Vanguard is a family business; we value our people and take pride in the service we offer. We are looking for a Customer Service Assistant to help support the team at our East London store. We are looking for someone who can offer first class customer service, maintain high cleaning standards, build new customer relationships and provide general support around the store. The role would suit applicants looking for a full-time position working 5 over 7 days, a total of 40 hours, per week. The job involves shared weekend working.
Role Purpose
To provide outstanding customer service while maintaining a clean and secure self-storage facility though Vanguards high standards, policies and procedures.
Areas of Accountability
To interact and actively engage with our customers providing a “first class” service at all times through polite, hospitable and cooperative interaction.
Ensure all new sales enquiries are dealt with quickly and are consistently followed up to conclusion
Promote sales of additional products to achieve company targets
To manage short and long stay customer to maximize space usage and protect the company’s revenue
To ensure all customer transactions are completed within timely manner and adhere company policies and procedures.
To follow and complete all company paperwork including new customer contracts and cancelations
To ensure all complements/complaints and dealt with to a satisfactory conclusion, escalated to the line manager
Support the manager to chase debt
To follow our “Clean and Safe” daily, weekly and monthly procedures ensuring the store is kept to a high standard through regular cleaning and deep cleaning.
To carry out regular site patrols and litter picking
Ensure Vanguards brand & image is maintained to a high standard
To use one’s own initiative to correct problems before escalating their Line Manager
To comply with all Health and Safety polices and complete regular H&S checks, tests and Audits
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
· Good MS office skills including word and excel
· Previous experience of working in a customer service role
· Excellent communication skills
· Have a flexible attitude to work
· Clean Driving licence preferred but not essential
Salary
£22,000 per annum plus a performance related bonus.
