Job description
Rate of pay is £10.75 per hour, and the role will be based at the Sainsbury’s Argos Contact Centre in Widnes, Cheshire (WA8 8HS).
Training start dates are from Monday 7th August 2023. You must be available to train Monday to Friday, either 8am – 2pm or 2pm – 8pm (TBC dependent on start date) for 5 weeks.
We also offer a great range of benefits for all our colleagues including:
Discount card – provided after 4 weeks that gives you 10% on most items in Sainsbury’s, Argos and Habitat.
Love It Scheme – save money at hundreds of different retailers.
Colleague networks – a range of internal networks that create an environment where every single colleague can be themselves and fulfil their potential.
Free onsite parking.
With over one billion online customers every year, Argos is one of the best-known retailers in the UK. In fact, we’re the third most visited website in the UK. That’s a lot of customers, right? Well, that’s where you come in!
As a Customer Advisor based in our Contact Centre in Widnes, you’ll also have the opportunity to work from home once you have successfully completed your probationary period and we mutually agree the time is right for you. We’ll make sure you have everything you need to work in a way that suits you.
In your role you will be the frontline support for our customers, making sure they get the help they need at pace and at their convenience. This could be help placing an order or checking if something is in stock. It could be to talk about a delivery that’s already booked, or maybe they need more information on a product they’ve seen online. Whatever they need, you’ll have the skills and knowledge to offer them the best possible shopping experience.
We give you a first-class training experience to make sure you’re ready to answer any customer query that comes your way. And the training doesn’t stop there. We invest in our colleague’s development journey so whether you want to move up the career ladder or simply enhance your personal and professional skills, there’s training available for you when you want it. You don’t need to have experience in a role like this before, just a passion for creating great customer service, and we’ll give you all the skills from there.
There are lots of other benefits to working here too. From 24 days’ holiday (pro rata), to staff discount in Argos, Habitat and Sainsbury’s (available after 3 months with us), a subsidised canteen, free parking and an optional company pension scheme. We really think you’ll love it.
The contact centre is open 8am to 8pm from Monday to Sunday and you’ll always have your rotas available at least 4 weeks in advance (normally 12 weeks!) so you can count on us to give you a great work-life balance. We are offering 35 hours, so you’ll have plenty of time to spend your hard-earned cash! Initially you’ll start on a six month fixed term contract and there may be opportunities for permanent Customer Service roles once you’ve joined.
We know that candidates may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box. We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked. So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not apply and see how it goes?
Here at Sainsbury’s Argos we’re a proud equal opportunities employer that values diversity at every level of our business. Inclusion and Diversity are fundamental to our culture and values, fostering an innovative, collaborative and fast paced work environment that means we can build a better future for our colleagues and our customers. Everyone is welcome at Sainsbury’s Argos. Want to find out more? Then visit our Diversity & Inclusion page on our Careers site – www.argos.careers/diversityandinclusion
