The HUB at Carnegie Mellon University is searching for a Student Services Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing critical support in assisting undergraduate and graduate students and their parents related to their enrollment at CMU.

You will also be expected to seek out information within Enrollment Services or on campus in order to re-direct student inquiries, if needed. This position attains an understanding for the inner-workings of the university environment, while offering and expecting opportunities for taking initiative and process improvement.
Core responsibilities include:
- Provide services including, student requests for on demand/walk in transcripts, documents for pick up, signing of loan checks and promissory notes, collection of financial aid documents, collection and distribution of student enrollment and financial aid verification, etc.
- Informed on the following processes and can assist students and parents with the financial aid process and eligibility requirements, basic registration information regarding cross registration, add/drop process, withdrawal and leave of absence, change of grade, etc.
- Responsible for the day to day operations of the ID Card Services station
- Collect payments and provides students with receipts for all student account payments which includes cash, check and credit card payments received through the mail, phone or at the front counter
- Familiarize students with online services to streamline student requests and increase efficiencies.
- Provide various administrative duties that assist with smooth functioning, including filing, emailing to students with reminders about pick-ups, stocking copiers and printers with paper, distribution of correspondence according to the College-based advising model, etc.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree required; combination of education, training and experience will be considered
- Minimum one year administrative and customer service experience required; previous university experience preferred
