Job Purpose
Working in the Customer Contact team the post holder will provide a quality customer focused service which will include handling a range of customer enquiries and payments relating to Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefit, Sundry Debtors and Scottish Welfare Fund in accordance with statutory legislation and regulations through a variety of communication channels, providing resolution whenever possible, at first point of contact.
The post holder will also provide an effective customer enquiry service to customers seeking general information, assistance, support and signposting in relation to a full range of Council services in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives; specifically in relation to those identified within the Finance and ICT Service Plan, the Council’s Digital Strategy and the Community Plan.
The post holder may be required to work at different corporate locations within East Ayrshire that may not be their usual admin base.
Requirements
The duties of this post requires access to the public sector network and therefore the successful applicant must complete a basic Disclosure Scotland application. A formal offer of employment with East Ayrshire Council will only be made once satisfactory clearance has been received. Any information that is disclosed on a basic disclosure will require to be discussed before a formal offer of employment is made.

These are permanent full time posts working 35 hours per week. The admin base for these posts is The Opera House, 8 John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock
Normal office hours are 9am - 5pm Monday - Thursday & 9am - 4pm Friday
Annual Salary £22,914 - £24,115
The workstyle for this post is ‘Flexible’ - 50-79% of time is office based. Able to work at different/ multiple work locations. Occasionally works at home, or another location 1-2 days per week, or directly home to external appointments.
