About us

Acquaint's goal is to promote cultural intelligence, peacebuilding, and empathy by connecting people from different cultural backgrounds in our interactive platform that evoke the sharing of different cultural backgrounds and learning of new perspectives.

Join Acquaint and connect with more than 700 volunteers from 90 different countries to combat hate and polarization by promoting empathy and intercultural intelligence. You will have eye-opening experiences, deep conversations, and intercultural communication skills by connecting with people from different cultural backgrounds.

It is common for “Acquainters” to say they have never been connected internationally like this before and as far as we know there is NO other opportunity like this out there - you be the judge!

* This is a volunteer role and DOES NOT involve payment

Requirements:

1. English language

2. Basic computer skills

3. Internet connection

4. Must be 15 years of age or older (if under 18, permission from a parent or guardian is required)

5. Passionate about DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

Volunteer Responsibilities:

1. Enter times that you are available every week in Acquaint’s platform (minimum 1 hour/week)

2. Get paired with another volunteer from around the world during your available time(s)

3. Connect for a 45-60 minutes session through the platform guided by interactive icebreakers and prompts

4. Follow the safeguarding standards to prevent discrimination and protect privacy during the session
