Digital Development and Innovation Support Technician Main area-Corporate Grade-Band 5 Contract-Permanent Hours-Full time - 37.5 hours per week Town- Remote/ Parkway/ Broughton/ Estuary Point The Northwest Ambulance service is currently working on a variety of in house-built applications to solve both everyday problems and to bring innovative ideas and creations to life. An exciting opportunity has been created for an innovative digital support technician to join the North West Ambulance Service’s flourishing digital innovation and development team Our digital innovation and development team is ambitious creative and supportive, our positive, energetic people are highly skilled professionals who encompass quality, consistency, and compassion. The position holder will be an integral part of the team and wider digital network supporting the delivery of a diverse digital portfolio. They will support exciting innovations and critical developments contributing towards a digitally led culture within the trust and improving the service we deliver to patients. Key to this role is an enthusiastic, positive, and compassionate personality with a flair for multi-tasking. You will be a natural people person able to get along with all walks of life, have a ‘make things happen’ attitude and be agile and output driven in your work. We are looking for a fun, aspirational and self-organised critical thinker who enjoys learning and appreciate technology. The successful candidate will be an integral individual to the team, providing support to produce and embed solutions across specialist operational and clinical service lines and to bring innovation forward throughout the organisation. Activities are wide ranging from contributing to the design of a new product for corporate teams to installing a new piece of technology on a vehicle. This range will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to utilise a variety of skill sets to focus on specific areas of activity and grow the role to suit their own experiences and interests. The successful candidates’ primary responsibility is to work together with the team and wider directorate contributing to the underpinning digital transformational activities which complement the NWAS Digital Strategy. You will assist with agile software development practices, safe, secure solution testing, and innovation, together with the integration of clinical and business systems. Day to day you will be accountable for in life management of smart end user products, providing technical support and advice to users. Regular travel in your own vehicle will be required across the North West. Be part of an on call team covering critical systems out of hours. North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport. Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed. We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need. Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident. We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
