CRA Legal are recruiting on behalf of a reputable legal practice, specialising in many forms of legal practice. The firm are a renowned regional practice with multiple offices throughout various regions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with good academics, or a criminal defence professional at the beginning of their career, to join a growing law firm. There is much scope for development and you'll be given the opportunity to gain good exposure to high quality work.
If successful, you will perform the following role as an Criminal Defence Paralegal:
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research on relevant statutes, case law, and legal precedents to support the defence strategy.
- Case Preparation: Assist solicitors in preparing for trials, hearings, and other court proceedings by organising case files, collecting evidence, and preparing exhibits.
- Drafting Legal Documents: Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and affidavits under the guidance of solicitors.
- Client Communication: Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather information, schedule appointments, and provide updates on case progress.
- Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with the appropriate courts and administrative agencies, ensuring compliance with all filing deadlines and procedures.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including managing solicitors' calendars, scheduling appointments, and maintaining case management systems.
- Trial Support: Assist solicitors during trial proceedings by organising trial exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and taking notes during court proceedings.
- Case Management: Maintain accurate and organised case files, ensuring all documents, correspondence, and evidence are properly catalogued and accessible.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of changes in criminal law, court procedures, and legal research methods to provide the most up-to-date assistance to the legal team.
