West Yorkshire Police as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services are looking to recruit a Crime Scene Surveyor to be based at Calder Park, Wakefield.
In this role, you will provide efficient and effective crime scene surveys, and plan drawing service to meet the investigative requirements of all four Forces within the Yorkshire and Humber region.
This opportunity would suit a candidate with a Degree in Cartography or Surveying, or equivalent, together with experience of various survey disciplines and GPS.
You will also need knowledge of Ordnance survey mapping and an in depth working knowledge in a CAD Environment.
We are looking for candidates with competencies in more than one of these survey methods
- 3D Laser Scanning and Total Station
- Measured building surveying, producing plans, sections and elevations in AutoCad
- 3D representations using 3D scan data and 3D modelling software
As a Crime Scene Surveyor you will require a flexible approach to working hours to ensure efficient crime scene surveying processes. In addition, you must be prepared to travel for business purposes, hold a full current UK/European driving licence.
Applicants should be aware that it is not always possible to carry out adequate vetting checks on persons who have not been resident within the UK for the last three years. Therefore, where this applies, applicants may be refused on the grounds that it was not possible to vet them to the appropriate standard.
