Job description
We are recruiting for a part time Finance Assistant/Credit Controller for our well established client based in Kendal. The job is 22.5 hours per week, over Monday to Friday, 9am-2pm with • hour unpaid lunch break. The salary is up to £25kpa pro rata depending on experience. The client offers a generous company pension scheme. Holidays are 21 days per year (with an extra day per year after one year's service up to 26 days) pro rata plus bank holidays.

FINANCE ASSISTANT/CREDIT CONTROLLER
Responsible for a number of key finance processes and to provide support across the company. Working closely with Finance and other parts of the business to ensure the efficient and accurate maintenance of debtors and creditors ledgers, credit control and bank reconciliations.
Main Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices on to Sage
- Process and record all payments to suppliers, send remittances
- Administer customer records including invoices and monthly statements
- Process customer receipts onto Sage
- Credit control and monitoring debtors ledger
- Process employee expense claims
- Bank reconciliation
- Assist with prepayments and accruals with journal entries
- Routine housekeeping of Sage
- Other duties as required
Experience
- 1+ years of previous finance and credit control experience essential
- Experience of operating sales and purchase ledgers
- AAT qualifications desirable
Essential Skills
- An understanding of financial procedures including nominal structure and cost centres
- High level of numeracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel
- Good knowledge of Sage
- Strong IT skills

- Must be diligent and use own initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive, motivated and enthusiastic.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
- Flexible and professional approach with the ability to manage own workload
