The Role
This is an exciting new role here at Lakeland, managing the workflow of resource (agency and in house) that produces content in line with direction provided, ultimately supporting the commercial objectives.
This role supports the Head of Commercial Planning and Brand Development in the creation of content by managing the workflow of external agencies, as well as two internal copywriters and internal artworker to produce creative content that supports the commercial marketing plan. Whilst the majority of work is planned, there is a real time and agile element to the workload in reacting to competitors, commercial performance and environmental factors too.
As this is a new role and function, the successful applicant would be involved in shaping and building the team, focusing on new & improved ways of working and putting in place efficient and effective processes.
About You
You’ll have significant experience of content creation, preferably B2C and ideally in a multichannel business with a significant online presence. You have previously demonstrated operational excellence of championing, leading and supporting change in a dynamic business.
You must be experienced in leading and managing a team, and also managing a process that spans months and works across multiple stakeholders. You have the ability to motivate and lead a team to deliver against shared objectives and drive performance and also a team player, able to collaborate with others whilst positively challenging and welcoming feedback to drive self-improvement.
You’ll also have experience of briefing, developing and approving creative work and strong and extensive 3rd party relationship management experience, ideally with creative agencies.
You will ideally be experienced using design software e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, video editing app’s with good computer literacy - Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. You have excellent personal, written and verbal communication skills, as this is a pivotal role between internal colleagues and external agencies.
You are extremely well organised and deadline driven, with the ability to analyse, plan and prioritise resource and workload to achieve multiple objectives in a fast-paced environment, coping well under pressure. You have clarity of thinking and precision of language to ensure external agencies have an understanding of the objectives of briefed activity.
You are commercially savvy, with the ability to judge which content decisions are likely to add value and boost customer engagement and response. You have high attention to detail with a natural ability to proofread – able to spot errors and omissions that others may miss.
