Who We Are Seeking

The creative director is the lead for our digital projects and responsible for ensuring the highest quality output for the creative team. They influence and inspire teams at all phases of the project lifecycle from pitching to ideation, concept design through to production. Our CD’s are deep practitioners, strategic thinkers and client partners, who can seamlessly navigate challenging requirements to effectively guide creative teams overseeing multiple projects from web to native mobile and immersive.

We’re looking for an exceptional creative leader with a sharp eye for detail, comfortable getting hands-on when needed to ensure the best possible standard of work. Someone who can help hire, manage and mentor our digital and product focused teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Set the creative direction and provide strategic guidance throughout the duration of client team projects and can operate as both a hands-off leader, as well as a hands-on practitioner.
  • Collaborate with cross disciplinary teams to ensure the success of both internal and external projects and initiatives.
  • Skilled in turning complex requirements into simple and thoughtful solutions.
  • Prolific designer and thinker experienced in working with clients large and small across a variety of digital mediums.
  • Displays a cohesive understanding, and ability to execute innovative, effective, creative concepts, and implementations in a cross-disciplinary manner.
  • Embraces the power of storytelling to write and present inspiring proposals.
  • Has a proven track record developing and implementing creative strategy that exceeds client business objectives
  • Continually develops and inspires colleagues to innovate and harness new ways of thinking
  • Acts as a Career Manager, guiding creatives of all levels within LFL, including regular one-on-one check-in’s, writing and delivering annual performance reviews and takes responsibility for on-boarding new employees and guiding him/her through a successful tenure at LFL
  • Works in conjunction with the business development and client partnerships team to actively build a strong relationship with new and existing clients, while significantly contributing to the growing breadth of business.
  • Proven ability to creatively lead new business pitches, while articulating a compelling story.
  • Fosters a culture of proactivity, resourcefulness and being tough on the work not on each other.

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • A minimum of 10 years experience in an agency environment, or relevant creative field
  • A sharp eye for detail and the ability to guide clients and internal teams to produce exceptional work.
  • Extensive experience leading digital design, production and agency partner teams
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of grids, typography and layout within digital design systems
  • A track record of managing, mentoring and growing successful design teams.
  • Thought leadership; a strong point of view; ability to contribute to strategic development of an assignment; creative ideas and the ability to promote conceptual thinking among the team
  • A solid understanding of the practice of digital and product design and a portfolio that showcases projects of exceptional quality.

The salary range for this role is $130,000-$175,000. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Culver City, California. This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
