Job description
Kind, warm international family is looking for an experienced, responsible and fun English speaking nanny to look after their 2 young children. In north Notting Hill.
Start date September. The family is flexible on salary for the right nanny. Rota 2wks on/ 2wks off. 24hr or 12 hrs per day when in London, Live out (must live close by)
They have a 2 yr old boy and a newborn baby girl. The little boy is nearly 2 yrs and will be at nursery in the mornings from September, so you will only have both children to look after for half of each day.
Looking for a nanny with lots of energy and initiative. Someone who will arrange plenty of fun activities and excursions, including a social life for both children with playdates. Both parents work, mum works partly from home, but will be more office based as time progresses. She will want to be able to see the children at lunch time or at a tea break during the day, so nanny should be comfortable with this. She will be careful that this does not interrupt nanny’s plans.
This young family enjoy a positive, friendly and open environment at home. Mum explains that she likes good communication and for everyone to know what they are doing. Things work well for them and for the children when the structure and routine is followed. The parents believe this gives security to the children and makes for happier children (and everyone else in the home!).
The family keep a very clean and tidy house and it is important to the family that the nanny also likes it this way.
They are looking for a nanny who will be a long term part of their household/ family. They look after their staff and believe in give and take and giving each other flexibility when required, eg. If the nanny wants to take extra holiday.
The family travel overseas during holidays, to stay with their family’s homes abroad. They spend summer at the beach house in New York and they spend time in France and Germany too. If you work longer hours when travelling with them then you can be paid extra.
This family employs a full time housekeeper and also weekend nanny help, so you will not need to any extra hours for them on an ad hoc basis, which might be nice to know. However, there could be proxy parenting opportunities.
This family does not have any pets, but there is a very friendly dog at the grandparent’s beach house in New York.
You will not be required to join the family for all the weeks when they are overseas, but they would appreciate if you could stay with them for at least 4 weeks at the beach house. They would love for nanny to see the travelling part of the job as fun and exciting and something they like to do.
It would be helpful if nanny could drive, as this could be helpful for the job but also for the nanny themselves when abroad, but driving is not needed in London.
Please note, the family is high profile and discretion is important.
