If you are looking for a rewarding career where you can make a difference and change lives for the better, then a Creative Arts Support Worker role at the Brothers of Charity Services is the right choice for you.

You will be helping the people you support to research ideas for their projects, assisting them to gain inspiration and encouraging them to make choices about their creative experience. You will also be introducing them to new creative mediums or developing an existing skill or interest. These are likely to include drawing, painting, sculpture, printing, textiles, digital photography and/or paper arts.

The Brothers of Charity Services is a non-profit organisation that provides a wide range of compassionate, person-centred care services to people with learning disabilities. Our Ethos, Vision and Values guide us in our mission to provide outstanding care, support and opportunities to provide dignified and respectful personalised support for people with learning disabilities and vulnerable adults.

Job Summary (Description of main purpose of job)

The Creative Arts Team encourages artists with a variety of learning disabilities to explore and develop their potential in a friendly and supportive environment. We believe that an individual’s interests and vision should be at the heart of their creative experience. Artists often find that joining a group gives them an opportunity to meet people, make new friends or take up a hobby.

A wide choice of arts and crafts are on offer, including drawing, painting, ceramics and sculpture, weaving, printing, felt making or other textiles, digital photography and paper arts. Some artists have developed their own distinctive style and enjoy promoting and selling their work through local exhibitions and sales.

Many artists, however, prefer to explore more therapeutic experiences, where the emphasis is on a less conventional means of expression. Here artists can enjoy music, dance, relaxation, aromatherapy, massage or authentic movement.
