Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic Clinical / Counselling Psychologist with special interest in trauma and affective disorders You will join the Southampton Psychology Service, which is a supportive and friendly team with a wealth of clinical expertise including CBT, DBT, CAT, ACT, EMDR and psychodynamic therapy. We have good supervision structures and an excellent track record of CPD, as well as strong academic links.
In this role, you will provide specialist input to patients with post-traumatic stress disorder, including complex PTSD, and other complex affective presentations. You will hold a caseload yourself, as well as managing and supervising therapists, trainees, and assistants. You will also provide supervision, consultation and training to staff working in the community mental health teams.
We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal and clinical skills. You will be confident delivering trauma-focused CBT and/or EMDR. If you need training in either of these approaches, this will be available, and you will be supported and encouraged to gain accreditation. You will also be supported to develop your skills in supervision, management and/or leadership as needed.
You will be based at College Keep, Southampton and will be managed by a Principal Clinical Psychologist. Flexible working arrangements are possible, including some remote working according to clinical need.
