Job description
We are looking for a Quality Checker / Snagger to join our busy bodyshop department at BCA Corby (Geddington Road B). Within this role, you will be working as a part of an experienced bodyshop team reporting to the Senior Operations Supervisor. Your role will focus on inspecting the cars after completed bodyshop work and complete minor cosmetic repairs if required at the end of the process to ensure that the cars are finished to the highest quality.
This is an ideal role for a candidate with previous experience in a similar role who is looking for a full time role.
Our recruitment process will include phone interview with our Talent Acquisition Specialist. This will be followed with an on-site visit meeting Operations Supervisor, site tour and completing a skill test that will last approximately 2 hours.
Basic Salary: £13.00 per hour (Days) / £14.30 per hour (Nights) + overtime paid as time and half
Working Hours:
Day shift Monday-Friday 6:00-15:00 or 8:00-17:00
Night shift Monday-Thursday 18:00-6:00
overtime (paid as x 1.5 over 45 hours)
Main responsibilities:
- Carrying out cosmetic inspections to detect cosmetic damage
- Carry out polishing of new painted panels, ensuring all dirt inclusions are removed and the overall finish matches the original factory finish
- Removing scratches and correcting minor paint work
- Maintain all systems ensuring that adequate and appropriate records are created and maintained
- Ensuring that work is carried out efficiently to ensure deadlines are met
- Other ad-hoc duties may be required
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Bodyshop Technician / Smart Repairer / Quickfix (Essential)
- Experience in completing quality check inspections (Desirable)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willing to support junior techs and offer support/expertise when needed.
- You will be passionate to work within the motor industry and take pride in their work, to the highest standards of work set by customers
- You will need to work independently on vehicles and have experience to make decisions when required
- Excellent attention to detail
