Frederick Jones (Belfast) Ltd is a long-established company supplying packaging and building products and due to a requirement in our Packaging Division we require a person for our:

Corrugated Department - Balmoral Road, Belfast

JOB TITLE: Corrugated Production Operative

DEPARTMENT / LOCATION: Corrugated Department / 25 Balmoral Road, Belfast, BT12 6QA

RESPONSIBLE TO: Alan Fowler / Mark Anderson
STATEMENT OF MAIN PURPOSE OF POST:

Day to day manufacture and finishing of corrugated products.

KEY TASKS:

  • Safe operation of machinery used in the production and finishing of various types and sizes of corrugated products.
  • Assembly of composite packs - any combinations of wood / plywood / fibreboard / foam glued and stapled to customer specification.
  • Use of strapping and sealing, foot stapling and stretch-wrapping hand machines, in preparation of packaging for despatch.
  • To ensure the production of orders is correct and to ensure the appropriate documentation is correct.
  • General care and tidiness of machines and production area on a daily and weekly basis and to ensure any problems are immediately reported to a supervisor or management.
  • Adhere to all the company's health and safety procedures.
  • Work flexibly in other areas and in other duties as required by operational needs and as directed by management.
  • Where Certified - Safe operation of Forklifts.

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:

  • The accuracy of work and relevant paperwork and documentation.
  • The efficiency in which all tasks are carried out.
  • The tidiness of production area.
  • The completion of IS09000 duties.
  • Co-operation with other personnel and management.

HOURS:

Monday – Thursday 6.45 – 12.15, 12.45 – 15.45
Friday 6.45 – 11.45

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria

  • 2 years’ experience of working in a manufacturing environment

Desirable Criteria

  • Forklift Licence
  • 1 years’ experience with ISO 9000 quality systems
  • Previous experience of working with packaging products
  • First Aid Certificate

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £10.38-£12.49 per hour

  • Counterbalance Forklift Certificate (preferred)
