Talent Acquisition Specialist
This role is focused on Tech Returners programmes. Tech Returners is an inclusive, accessible, and positive learning and coaching community empowering careers into and through technology with a range of programmes, resources and development tools. The organisation is committed to removing the barriers returners face after a career break and tackling the skills shortage in technology by empowering people into technology careers and providing continuous support on their journeys through technology and into leadership.
About the role:
You’ll engage with our returners, with a focus on creating a supportive and comfortable onboarding environment that helps people to shine and see people’s potential. You will research community events and the returner, software engineer and diverse technology industries and immerse yourself in the UK tech scene to reach more potential applicants and share our vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside internal and external key stakeholders to plan our sourcing strategy for the individual programmes
- Assess individual applications in line with the programme requirements
- Host Behavioural Interviews
- Engage with individuals on the benefits of the programmes
- Keep our active pipeline of future applicants engaged
- Work with our Marketing and Talent teams to implement the marketing recruitment campaigns
- Identify the correct platforms to use to attract individuals for each programme and to promote the marketing recruitment campaigns
- Create weekly reports on campaign success
- Attend virtual and in-person events to network with individuals suitable for the programmes
- Support Returners onto our programmes
- Support the Talent team on wider talent acquisition responsibilities
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
With 1-3 years of experience in a recruitment/onboarding role, you will have a passion for technology and Diversity & Inclusion. You’ll be experienced at engaging with technology professionals via social media, interviewing individuals and be confident in presenting our programmes to the returners.
As the Talent Acquisition Specialist, you’ll be tasked with attracting, sourcing, selecting, and supporting the programme participants to join our Tech Returners programme, delivered across the UK.
Working in a fast-paced environment you’ll need to be driven, a problem solver, focused, conscientious, commercially astute, a great communicator and above all passionate about your work.
You’ll be working as part of a supportive, remote-based team and you’ll have the flexibility to work around any family or personal commitments.
If successful, you will receive a great onboarding experience with our team, and the relevant initial and ongoing training and support to excel in your role.

- Contract: Full time
- Hours: 36 hours over a 4.5 day working week
- Salary: £25k-£30k
- Location: Manchester or Leeds, offering a hybrid and flexible working pattern
