Job description
We are looking for a motivated Band 5 who has a wealth of surgical knowledge and who is looking to contribute to improving patients’ journeys.
The Surgical Receiving Unit (SRU) receives patients for assessment from GP practices, the Emergency Department, Consultant clinic and other primary care settings.
- The role of the Band 5 Nurse on SRU is to ensure that patients are welcomed and managed in a safe and timely manner, receive the
supported throughout the shift and will manage any issues or concerns as they arise.
- SRU is a friendly and supportive place to work with a very fast pace due to taking emergency admissions and having many patients
in emergency general surgery.
- The shifts are days, twilights and nights and you will be expected to work a mixture. A passion for the delivery of high-quality care is
communication skills . You will need the ability to manage the clinical area efficiently and effectively. You will show an understanding of
the role and how you can effectively look after after acutely unwell patients.
- The ability to contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of local objectives and action plans is essential. An ability
