You will play a critical role in driving the financial outcomes for the Specialist Commercial Real Estate portfolio
The Specialist Commercial Real Estate portfolio comprises over £1bn in AUM across multiple development and income yielding projects. This includes investments in city centre regeneration projects, university-led science and technology hubs, retail and other commercial property assets. The role will involve providing active support to the investment teams and the wider L&G organisation in delivering controlled, timely and high-quality reporting of the assets results and their operations.

- Actively engage with stakeholders to ensure the best outcome for Legal and General Capital against our key performance metrics
- Analyse and evaluate investment models and review reported information to produce deliverables that feed into the monthly reporting to the LGC Performance Committee and the bi-annual valuation process including preparing reports for LGC’s Asset Valuation committee.
- Support the Group’s sustainability and ESG agenda and reporting metrics across the portfolio.
- Deal with operational issues, reporting challenges, accounting treatments and review of financial performance and position.
- Play an important role in shaping the financial outcomes that form LGC’s 5-year plan across the SCRE portfolio. This drives the underlying business strategies, financial targets and the allocation of capital.
- Support the central LGC Finance team in collating the financial plan for the wider division to forecast operating profit, PBT, cash utilisation and other financial and non-financial metrics.
- Support investment teams with M&A transactions and significant financial events such as restructurings and refinancing, supporting investment appraisals and valuations of potential projects
- Feed into wider multi-disciplinary teams and support the preparation and presentation of Investment Committee approval papers focused on investment strategies and identification of business drivers for profitability and capital allocation
- Engage with senior stakeholders in LGC as well as various stakeholders across the division and wider Group including Risk, Actuarial, Tax and Reporting teams
- Support the team’s interaction with external stakeholders such as 3rd party valuers, investee companies, M&A advisors, and consultants
- Relevant accounting/ financial qualification required, preferably ACA/ACCA
- Demonstrable commercial acumen and interest in alternative asset investment
- Finance background and skills
- Strong excel and data presentation skills
- A solid financial analysis grounding to assist senior finance and investment staff in assessing and reporting the division’s performance and medium-term value creation plans with reference to its liquidity requirements and PBT generation
- Minimum 1-2 years’ PQE with experience in real estate and infrastructure sectors (preferable but not essential)
- Experience of working to tight reporting deadlines, ideally in large corporate teams
