Job Summary
Our organization is seeking a highly motivated, experienced individual to support our work and mission. The right candidate excels at critical thinking, possesses incredible organizational skills, is resourceful, and can work in a fast-paced environment . As part of the team, you work with the project manager, director of programs and direct reports to support various projects. You and your team work with clients to define project scope and requirements, and liaise between the many different moving parts and complexities of any given project, ensuring timeliness and focus. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to manage a small team of 1-2 assistant project managers. You will provide guidance and direction to your team members, delegating tasks, and fostering their professional growth. You will lead by example for your team members by reinforcing best practices of professional work setting. This position requires an ability to multitask while retaining attention to detail, strong communication skills, ability to problem solve, and a strong strategic and organizational sense to ensure overlapping timelines and requirements do not hinder progress.
Junior Project Manager Duties and Responsibilities
The following example of job description shows major tasks, duties, and responsibilities junior project managers usually carry out in the course of their work:
● Supervise different tasks in the quest of completing a project
● Responsible for the flow of information from the project owner to the team regarding the project
● Draft work plans, timelines to make provisions for the progress of the project
● Meet with project team members on a regular basis to ensure project progress
● Draft project budgets, and track the budget to ensure that the project is staying within its approved budget
● Draft invoices and reporting documents (as necessary) to ensure that the project is being billed to the client
● Draft proposals in response to grant or Request for Proposals (RFP) opportunities
● Ensure that the procedure, rules, regulations, governing the project are well adhered to
● Meet with the project manager on a regular basis
● Supervise assistant project managers
● Train and onboard new assistant project managers
● Meet with the Director of Programs, and Executive Director consistently and share project and team updates
● Delegate project tasks internally and externally based on individual strengths, skill sets and experience level.
● Track project outcomes, performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals
● Draft reports, presentations, and recommendations for the project (as needed)
● Plan, commence, execute, supervise assigned projects
● Responsible for the well being of the project team in the course of the project
● Suggest strategies of achieving the project goals to the owner
Junior Project Manager Requirements and Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, or a relevant field
● Strong organizational ability, including the ability to maintain close attention to detail while juggling many tasks
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Experience with process improvement and audit control
● 1-3 years of supervisory experience
● 1-2 years of project management experience
● At least 2-3 years of experience in coordinating, and organizing community outreach activities
● Advanced time management and analytical skills
● Working knowledge of Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Microsoft Office 365
● Excellent client-facing communication skills
● Excellent written and verbal skills
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● Thoughtful and strategic approach to problem solving
● Experience in a fast paced environment
● Ability to manage multiple projects on short deadlines
● Ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
● Strong interpersonal skills, able to motivate and drive collaboration with other departments and stakeholders without direct authority over those groups
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to quickly prioritize and comprehend through a framework to organize multiple parallel projects and priorities
● Experience with some project management tools and building project plans and frameworks for others to utilize
● Manage an overall program with multiple team members and deliverables
Note: Depending on the project, you may be required to work after regular hours, including evenings and weekends.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $79,000.00 per year
