Job description

As a Corporate Communications Industrial Placement student (12 months), you will work as part of the Corporate Communications, Marketing & Sustainability team, carrying out a variety of tasks to help implement, monitor and evaluate PR and Social Media activity and to help achieve Marketing, Sales and company objectives.

You will be responsible for monitoring daily press clippings and circulating coverage generated. Alongside this, you will also support in providing timely responses to any media enquiries and manage any product loans requested.

You will get the opportunity to handle dedicated projects with niche and specialist media, following a brief and managing the process with guidance of the PR and/or Social Media Specialists. And you will get hands on drafing local press releases as well as supporting with social media editorial content calendars; identifying influencers and influencer relations; and supporting internal communications with weekly newsletters and intranet updates.

Within the role you will be providing support and helping manage UK Press events and product launches while liaising with PR, social media, advertising and other external agencies. You will also have the opportunity to support Canon at events including trade shows, experiential activity and other campaign/PR based events.

What we ask

You must have a good understanding of MS Office including Excel and a good understanding of PR and social media. You must also possess excellent communication skills and a good flair of written and spoken English.

You will need

With your excellent planning and organisational skills, you'll be results focused and have the drive and enthusiasm to meet deadlines while working on multiple projects.

Salary - £18,525
Hours - 37.5 hours per week
