Job description
Are you looking for a challenging and exciting role at the centre of flood and coastal risk management in the Environment Agency?
We’re looking for a technical delivery person with a strong interest in improving the environment to join our Flood Risk Data and Evidence team in Yorkshire. You'll be responsible for supporting our flood risk projects, helping to deliver data and evidence for them to make the best decisions for people and the environment. There is one permanent post and one assignment until end of January 2024 with the possibility of this post being extended or becoming permanent also.
This is an exciting time to join the team, the Capital Programme has lots of opportunities and you’ll be well placed to make a difference. You’ll be an enthusiastic, organised, motivated individual with high standards and a proven record of technical project delivery. You’ll have some experience of flood risk modelling and/or GIS and the focus will be on delivering our elements of the programme in an efficient and effective way. Collaboration with our National Evidence and Risk service, Programme and Contract Management colleagues and our Area Partnership and Strategic Overview teams is essential for effective delivery.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
