What you'll be doing:
As Corporate Communications Manager, you'll join a multi-award-winning Communications team with a reputation for delivering industry-leading communications, creative campaigns with a focus on inspiring people to return to rail and help continue LNER's successful recovery from the pandemic.
In this exciting position you will be a key figure in the delivery of LNER's strategic business plan. The role holder will be responsible for coordinating, producing, and delivering various LNER corporate communications campaigns as well as preparing content, briefs and speaking notes for the Executive team. Outstanding attention to detail as part of ongoing media and reputation analysis is essential.
Reporting to the Head of Media, the role is critical to the operation of LNER's 24/7 Press Office and on-call roster as well developing communication plans that support the business through proactive reputation management as well as crafting LNER reactive responses when required.
The role holder also prepares strategic narratives and messaging frameworks for our communications activity from issues management to positive profiling opportunities for LNER as an industry leader.
This role works closely with colleagues in our Public Affairs team by supporting coordination between key stakeholders along the route, mapping a coherent approach and plans whilst identifying local topics and issues to support the activities of the business.
What you'll need:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) in Communications or equivalent through experience or professional qualification.
  • Experience in managing corporate communications projects.
  • Proven ability in issues management and press office activity
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills that are adaptable to suit different audiences
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills including of being able to influence, negotiate, deal with conflict.
  • Ability to operate within a complex environment and be able to assimilate information quickly
  • Collaborative, team player
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative.
  • Confident multi-channel communicator.
