A member of the Corporate Communications team, working alongside Head of Communications and the ESG Communications Manager to ensure that corporate and ESG communications, both internally and externally, are on brand and align with the business strategy for the year.

Our new Corporate Communications Executive will be working as a member of the Communications Team, based at the Central Support office in Gosforth. Reporting into the Head of Communications, you will be responsible for producing compelling and positive content, both internally to our 9,000 people, and externally through our corporate channels.

Communication to our people is something that we are continually striving to improve, but we don’t just want to do that, we want to create and deliver sector-leading communications that reflects our business, people and ambitions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Working at pace to deliver clear, impactful, and engaging communications to the business.
  • Produce, update, and circulate a strategic communications content calendar for the year ahead.
  • Oversee communications activity on internal platforms, e.g. Workplace by Meta, monitoring daily to drive engagement and grow activity.
  • Assist in video and photography shoots – including testimonials, vlogs, photography for news and media, and corporate event footage.
  • Be proficient in working with external design agencies to create engaging digital and printed content – including videos, infographics, reports, presentation decks, event assets and promotional materials of different styles based on requirements.
  • Track, analyse and report on success, whilst learning along the way.
  • Drafting press releases, reactive media comments, briefing notes.
  • Writing, proofreading, and editing copy.
  • Process team admin such as expenses, invoices, POs etc.
  • Event planning, venue and talent booking for any corporate events – liaising with external stakeholders.
  • Conduct research into topics to assist campaigns.
  • Submit well-structured drafts to senior team members within deadlines.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, prioritising tasks as required.
  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills.
  • Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills, with style adaptable to suit different channels and audiences.
  • A high level of creativity.
  • A genuine interest in communications and confidence to deal with a variety of stakeholders across various locations.
  • A passion for ESG including sustainability and charity work.
  • Have the confidence to build strong productive working relationships with people at all levels of our business.
  • Strong copy writing and proofing skills, with excellent attention to detail at all times.
  • Strong technical / computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously whilst meeting deadlines.
  • Team player with positive attitude and a creative approach.
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working on Workplace by Meta is desirable, but not essential.
  • Ability to travel around the UK if required.
  • Full, clean, driving licence.
