About the Role As part of a small team of finance business partners, you will be the key finance support to Spring Nurseries and Oscars Out-of-School clubs - a proud and successful part of the Action for Children family which provides high quality childcare to children and families around the country. The business is run through Action For Children Developments Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary which gifts 100% of its profits back to the charity each year. As the Corporate Business Partner, you'll: Work closely with the Spring & Oscars senior management to ensure they have full understanding of the financial position of the business and provide high quality financial advice on any issues arising Ensure the accuracy of the monthly accounts and work closely with the Finance Officer to complete all month end journals and processing Perform balance sheet reconciliations for all relevant balance sheet codes, and work with the financial accounts team to ensure accurate balance sheet accounting for AFC Developments Ltd Produce monthly reporting packs with commentary to explain key variances and trends Lead on the budgeting and quarterly forecasting process, ensuring the submissions are robust and submitted to organisational timetables Understand the future requirements of stakeholders and act as an early warner of any issues that may put targets in jeopardy, thus ensuring the robustness of Action for Children's forecasting and budgeting reporting. Lead on any financial input for significant business cases and ensure the financial data within any business case is robust and reliable. Support the annual financial audit and prepare financial information for the AFC Developments Ltd board as required. Lead on the tracking of cost and savings analysis which arise from reviews and produce regular reports for ELT. Work collaboratively with finance colleagues to ensure information from your areas of control is available in a format which can easily fit into any produced financial reports and models. All about you: Qualified Accountant with good understanding of management reporting within a large organisation. First-class communication skills to allow financial facts and data to be communicated to non-financial colleagues. Demonstrable experience of business partnering skills. Solid technical knowledge, particularly in VAT, limited company accounting and charity finance. Confidence to challenge and critique your stakeholders to ensure accuracy. Experience of delivering monthly and quarterly reporting for various stakeholders Strong IT Skills including Excel and forecasting/budgeting tools.
