The main purpose of this role is to provide expert technical and business consultancy services to our customers across Argyll, but predominately on the Isle of Islay. You will be required to travel regularly to spend time on Islay visiting customers, and work flexible hours to accommodate our clients.
Key elements of this role include:
- Providing technical, business and financial consultancy services to clients
- Winning and delivering new consultancy opportunities by marketing and selling the services offered by SAC Consulting to clients, including non-farming businesses in the rural community
- Identify solutions for your customers as they adapt to changes in regulation, government policy and markets
- Building and maintaining relationships with key staff in organisations with rural interests; including public and industry bodies, regulators, and banks or commercial companies.
- Assisting in the delivery and promotion of the Farm Advisory Service
The ideal candidate should have:
- A HND or Degree in a relevant discipline
- Technical knowledge of West Coast farming systems
- Experience working in the rural sector; an awareness of the challenges faced by agricultural business would be beneficial
- Strong people skills
