Complexity and Scope of the position
Working within the Marketing Department, and in close partnership with the Digital Marketing team, the Marketing Copywriter will develop and manage compelling and persuasive content for use in all marketing efforts for a multitude of sources, such as but not limited to digital marketing, website, blog, e-newsletter, social media and digital and traditional advertising.
Key Activities
- Support the Director, Brand Marketing and Corporate Initiatives in the annual content marketing editorial calendar, develop copy based on themes and key messages, create new or update existing tools (i.e., digital guides, videos, infographics, surveys, etc.) and ensure alignment across all channels.
- Act as a safekeeper and subject matter expert for Chartwell’s brand voice (English Canada), ensuring all marketing materials produced by the integrated team or outside contributors are reflective of the tenets outlined in Chartwell’s Branding Guide.
- Adapt traditional content to digital media and technologies, like writing product descriptions, SEO copy, marketing copy for digital ad campaigns, adapt to mobile and voice, email, and social content optimization.
- Collaborate with SMEs in digital (SEM, SEO & UX) and contribute to discussions and brainstorming sessions.
- Ensure projects are delivered on-time and to the highest possible standard.
- Requires hands-on knowledge of best practices in marketing content trends, especially with digital content.
- Support special integrated team initiatives as assigned, including project management support.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 1-3 years of content writing experience in English.
- Experience communicating in a corporate environment.
- SEO, SEM, E-Commerce product descriptions is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of marketing channels, including but not limited to, website, social media, email, online PR and other channels.
- Understanding of digital space, sales funnels, and online user experience.
Education:
- Post-secondary education: Communications, Journalism or Marketing Degree preferred.
- Certifications: Google AdWords, Google Analytics an asset.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication, relationship management, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Impeccable writing skills (concise, clear, impactful, and grammatical accuracy)
- Passion for online marketing, interactivity, website, and digital media.
