As part of our wider care team you’ll have a key role to play in the wellbeing of our residents. Responsible for preparing appetising meals for our care home residents, you will have a passion for cooking and will want to deliver great menus that understand the challenges of catering for older, vulnerable people – some of whom may have poor appetites. You’ll work closely with your care team colleagues to address their individual needs to ensure that all our residents are well cared for.
This is a demanding role for a cook. But you will have lots of support and quality training to make a success of it.
Requirements
You are a capable, experienced cook with a cooking qualification. In addition, you are a caring person who knows the vital role mealtimes play in the lives of others. Ideally, you’ve already got some experience catering for older people in a care home or similar setting, but more important is your enthusiasm and commitment to food. You’re well organised and a good team player. You’re happy working closely with colleagues to make sure individual dietary needs are met.
You’ll be a valued member of a friendly, close-knit team – keen to progress in your career, but most importantly to do your bit to improve the nutrition of older people.
With a working pattern between 8am and 5pm, this is role that will enable you to really make a difference.
