Due to the planned restructuring of our UK Business including the transfer of inventory, slitting and customer service operations from Sheffield to Livingston we are currently recruiting for machine operatives within our conversion and logistics department.
Being close to the customer, the conversion and logistics department will become a fast-paced and dynamic environment and will make a significant contribution to the success of the company.
About the role
The role of Conversion and Logistics (C & L) Operative is key to the manufacturing of our product and delivering excellent service to our customers.
The C & L Operative is responsible for the operation of finishing and slitting machines and alongside Mix Mill and Coating functions is responsible for ensuring the final product meets our standards and that of our customers, prior to despatch.
Main Duties
- To meet customer demands through the achievement of high standards in terms of quality, output and on time order fulfilment using the equipment and processes in the department.
- • Achieving high performance in terms of throughput and quality from the slitting and despatch equipment / processes to ensure all orders are dispatched on time and in full.
- • Set up and operating the relevant finishing and slitting machinery safely ensuring quality is maintained to the required specifications, updating skills and operating practices as required.
- • Full inspection of coated jumbo foil rolls ensuring full attention to detail at all times.
- • Timely problem solving or escalation of problems to the attention of most senior person on site or management team for rapid resolution.
- • Data information entry and recording on manufacturing ERP systems.
- • Provide final quality assessments of reels to be dispatched to customers, if necessary, raising concerns regarding out-going goods / quality concerns.
- • Clean machinery and maintain excellent housekeeping in area of work.
- • Final preparation and packing of products in accordance with appropriate specifications and packing procedures to be fully compliant with relevant country and customs regulations, ready for dispatch.
- • Work close with the coating, finishing/slitting teams and customer service teams to ensure on time in full deliveries are achieved.
- • Operation of forklift, stand and ride and other equipment e.g. wrappers, balers as necessary.

Salary: £24,794.00-£29,469.00 per year
