Why Business Unit/Function
Within the SME sales function, our desk, indirect and local business teams offer customers (UK businesses of 100 employees or less) seamless access, to the most appropriate channel or resource to serve their volume non-customised product needs at a standard rate. We maintain a national approach to serve smaller customers.
Through proactive channel management, focused marketing and strong propositions, we provide the best customer experience at the best possible operating cost , minimise customer effort, and maximise coverage of the volume market.
- Manage the contractual e2e process of agreeing contract terms and conditions with Partners as and when required (new, renewal, renegotiate, terminate)
- Accountable for operational contract activities
- Uses contract as a negotiating tool where required by initiating and using contract levers and KPIs to drive performance of the partners
- Completion of pre-contract activities, e.g. contract templates, and in life management, and refresh, of the same
- Constantly learn and develop knowledge across product, market and industry, using this insight to help drive the acquisition agenda for the channel by using the contract as a sales tool.
- Commercial and contractual integrity of the channel
- Contract management skills - work with PSMs to hold partners to account for adhering to contractual obligations and performance metrics.
- Negotiation skills - liaise with Legal, and external lawyers, on contract terms during in-life, negotiating with the partner where required (e.g. where it is a complex business requirement) as and when they are raised.
- Commercial acumen – to understand the requirements of the contracts from a business financial perspective, and the implications of non adherence by partners (actions or performance)
- Graduate background with good business and legal acumen
- Legal training or knowledge and expertise of contract law
- Previously worked in a fast moving and evolving sales environment
- Previous customer/partner engagement from a legal and contract management perspective from CXO level down
- Ability to effectively negotiate contract terms with external third parties at CXO level
- MS Powerpoint, Excel and Teams use and understanding to an excellent level
- Good knowledge of the BT and EE product set
- Knowledge of the ICT industry and sales channels to market
