Conceptualized in 2009 and launched in 2011, Open Gym Premier (OGP) evolved after a group of passionate former hoopers recognized a lack of quality basketball facilities, programs, events and coaching in the Orange County area. The idea for Open Gym Premier was developed based on the experiences of Matt Kanne, Miguel Bennett and the entire OGP staff, who carefully evaluated their own careers to help create the ultimate basketball experience. Since then, OGP has expanded to include volleyball programming and a one-of-a-kind facility experience.
Open Gym Premier provides camps, club teams, tournaments and training to dedicated basketball and volleyball players. One of fifteen Jr. NBA Flagship Network Members, OGP has earned a reputation for providing quality coaching and training while also delivering innovative, well-organized events to the basketball community. OGP has expanded significantly since inception and now operates club programs in Anaheim and Thousand Oaks, as well as a private 12-court facility in Anaheim. The event model now includes an elevated camp experience for elite players through the Elite Basketball Circuit and a full-service tournament platform through Grassroots 365. OGP continues to expand with programs and events for Orange County Basketball Tournaments across the West serving over 60,000 basketball players and 7,000 teams per year.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a full time Content Creator to join our growing Marketing team! Our ideal candidate will be responsible for creating compelling content for our 8 brands under Open Gym Premier. This candidate would work alongside our Marketing team in a fast, collaborative, and energetic environment & should be open to working weekend events.
The ideal candidate would be a visual storyteller, who loves graphic design, technology, and social media. This individual would be responsible for managing content on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube Tik Tok, and LinkedIn accounts. This candidate should be knowledgeable in younger generational trends, basketball and volleyball.
This position is a hybrid/flexible work schedule and some weekend availability is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create original content for each of our brands while maintaining message consistency.
- Continuously brainstorm new and exciting ideas that are on-trend and relevant to each of our brands.
- Collaborate with graphic designers to create visually appealing content.
- Develop a comprehensive social calendar that outlines the content plan for each week, including themed campaigns, promotions, and events.
- Staying up to date on social media trends and incorporating new trends into our social media strategy
- Proactively seek opportunities to conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, employees and other key figures within our organization, showcasing their stories and perspectives to enhance our content.
- Be open and willing to appear on-camera for our organization, contributing to video content and building a personal connection with our audience.
- Develop relationships with our team, influencers in the youth sports community, Directors and media in the youth basketball community
- Attend and actively participate in weekend events, capturing engaging content for social media coverage and showcasing the energy and excitement of our youth basketball programs and events.
- Conduct interviews and gather testimonials from coaches, athletes, and parents to highlight the impact of our programs.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating photoshoots, video shoots, and other content creation initiatives.
- Research and identify potential partnership opportunities with influencers, organizations, and brands to expand our reach and enhance our content.
- Manage our social media platforms by:
- Engaging with our audience through likes, comments, replies, and reposts.
- Utilizing storytelling to create compelling narratives that resonate with our audience.
- Researching and analyzing competitor accounts to identify industry trends and improve our social media strategy.
- Maintaining a consistent posting schedule, distributing engaging stories and posts across platforms.
- Developing high-quality daily content that aligns with our brand identity and engages our audience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Drive.
- Some graphic design experience preferred (Adobe Creative Cloud)
- Knowledge of video and photo editing is a plus.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1-2 years of social media experience for a brand/company
- Bachelor's degree or currently in school for Communications or a related field
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
